National Forgiveness Week 2025 is an initiative of our hosts, the Beswick Church.
Wugularr/Beswick is a remote Aboriginal community in Northern Territory, Australia.
1½ hour drive from Katherine or 4½ hour drive from Darwin.

We invite you to arrive by Friday afternoon, 27 June. Mornings will be free.
Meetings will be held afternoon and night, from Friday night until the Sunday night church service.
Most will depart Monday 30 June.
If you are flying out of Katherine on Monday 30 June,
you may choose to book accommodation in Katherine on Sunday night 29 June.
TRAVEL OPTIONS
OPTION 1 – FLY TO DARWIN :
1.1 Fly to Darwin – Flights e.g. on Friday 27 June and Monday 30 June
1.2 Pre-book a Hire Car/Campervan – Read here for examples of Campervan options for 4 days
1.3 Purchase supplies – BYO Water, Torch, Food and full tank fuel.
1.4 Drive from Darwin 4.5 hours on sealed roads via Katherine to Beswick
– Avoid driving at night and drive carefully to avoid kangaroos at dawn and dusk.
1.5 Driving back – You will probably drive back to Darwin on Monday 30 June.

OPTION 2 – FLY TO KATHERINE :
2.1 Fly to Katherine – Flights e.g. on Friday 27 June and Monday 30 June
2.2 Pre-book a hire car – Car Hire is limited. Campervans are not available from Katherine
so you will need to book accommodation in Katherine or bring Camp Gear to camp in Beswick.

2.3 Buy supplies – BYO water, food, torch and a full tank of fuel.
2.4 From Katherine drive 1.5 hours on sealed roads to Beswick – If you book accommodation in Katherine, you can drive to Beswick on Saturday and Sunday.
Drive especially carefully to avoid kangaroos at dawn and dusk.
2.5 Flying out – Note if you are flying out of Katherine on Monday 30 June,
you may need accommodation in Katherine on Sunday night 29 June.

OPTION 3 – DRIVING :
3.1 Drive from wherever you are – Make sure you know what to bring and what to do to be safe.
BESWICK - ACCOMMODATION & FOOD
The only accommodation in Beswick are campsites with showers and toilets, without power outlets.
NO need to book a campsite – just find your own space near amentities.
BYO Camp Gear/Campervan, bottled water, food and a full tank of fuel.
Beswick has some fuel, a general store, a small bistro serving takeaway lunch and dinner.
Also there is limited accommodation in Barunga, an Aboriginal Community near Beswick.

KATHERINE - ACCOMMODATION
You can book accommodation in Katherine and drive 1.5 hours each way to Beswick on Saturday and Sunday.
BYO bottled water, food and a full tank of fuel when you leave Katherine.
Note if you are flying out of Katherine on Monday 30 June,
you will need accommodation in Katherine Friday 27 June – Monday 30th June (3 nights).
THINGS TO DO IN BESWICK
(Friday Afternoon / Saturday / Sunday morning)
1. Beswick Falls
The sacred and spectacular Beswick Falls on Wugularr country.
A popular fishing location for local people and freshwater crocodiles.
This sacred place is only accessible for tourists with one of the local guides at Djilpin Arts.
It is a 45 minute trip each way in 4 wheel drive vehicles.
